West Indies won by 5 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)

After losing the 1st T20I comprehensively, England find themselves in a must win situation last evening at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The visitors have received a huge blow ahead of today’s 2nd T20I with Captain Stuart Broad ruled out with a knee injury.

The 1st T20I of this 3-match series was played on Sunday which was won by West Indies. The 2nd T20I will also be played at the same venue and is scheduled to start at 14:00 local time, 12:00 a.m. Indian time on March 11, 2014.

TV telecast info:

Sky Sports 2 will bring the live broadcast for UK viewers. The audio commentary of West Indies vs England, 2nd T20I can be heard on BBC Radio 5. In India, the match can be watched on Ten Cricket Channel.

The pitch at the Kensington Oval was quite ideal for a Twenty20 match on Sunday. The scores weren’t that bad with West Indies posting 170 and winning the match by 27 runs. Batsmen could stroke the ball freely while the slower bowlers did get enough help from the pitch to curtail the run rate. The same conditions can be expected for today’s match as well.

The weather at Bridgetown is reported to be cloudy with a possibility of scattered showers. Hopefully the rain clouds will stay away from the Kensington Oval during the match time.

Windies look good; England struggling with injuries:

As far as the real action is concerned, West Indies who are the defending World T20 Champions look to be in a good shape.

Chris Gayle has boosted them with his return to international cricket by smacking a 35-ball 43 in the 1st T20I. Another comeback man Marlon Samuels produced a great all-round show on Sunday for the West Indies.

Sunil Narine who bowled only a couple of overs in the 1st T20I because of jarring his knee is likely to be rested in today’s match as a precautionary measure.

England have plenty of problems in the absence of Captain Stuart Broad. It is reported that Vice-Captain Eoin Morgan who is suppsosed to take over the captaincy from Broad is also carrying an injury.

Broad as we know has already been ruled out of the series. Ian Bell who didn’t play in the 1st T20I is likely to play in today’s match as he is a part of the World T20 Squad.

Watch out for the highlights of tonight’s match in this post…
